Brian Harrison and Martín Kasall met in 2012, exchanging musical ideas that led to various projects and the creation of their alias, Brigado Crew, inspired by the Portuguese word “Obrigado” (meaning thanks). Over the years, Brigado Crew has released music on major labels such as Diynamic, Stil vor Talent, and Tomorrowland Music. Their 2017 single “Zulu” hit number one on the Beatport Deep House chart, gaining widespread support from top artists like Solomun, Âme, and Black Coffee. In 2021, they released their debut album Symbiosis on Stil vor Talent, solidifying their musical identity with a mix of ’80s and futuristic sounds. In 2023, they launched their own label, Symbiosis, and continued to release music on prominent labels.
Interview with Brigado Crew
You recently released an excellent remix of your track “Sunrise” on your imprint, by London-based talent Paride Saraceni. How did it come about and what’s special about this piece?
Paride is an artist we have always kept an eye on. His music is wonderful and we’ve always dreamed of having him onboard on our label.
You have an exciting tour lined up for August, covering Argentina, India, Canada, and Chile. How do you prepare for such a diverse tour, and what are you most looking forward to in each country?
Wow, it’s really incredible to have the chance to show our music to these different countries. All of each have some special sensation you know… but it’s so great to combine different cultures so quickly. It’s a real challenge for a DJ, because the people are so different, so you need how to approach it!
How has being from Argentina influenced your music, and what impact do you think your music has had on the scene there?
Honestly, our music doesn’t have an Argentinean taste, as we have always listened to so much European music and our big influences mainly come from music from Germany and the UK.
Can you tell us a little about how Brigado Crew was formed? What inspired the two of you to start producing music together?
We started around 10 years ago, we live so near to each other so we started as friends making meetings, and talking about music, and one magical day we said, why don’t we start making music together and put a duo name on it? Super quickly we started getting nice results and offers to play, so we saw something huge is coming and decided to make it professional.
You’ve had an exciting journey in the electronic music scene. What are some key milestones in your career that have significantly shaped your music?
Well without a doubt, releasing Diynamic music in 2017 when the label was #1 in the world was huge! And more for us because our track Zulu reached the #1 sales on Beatport it was really really great and opened the world to us, to bring our music to many many countries!
Where do you see yourselves and your music in the next five years? Are there any specific goals or dreams you’re working towards?
Hosting label showcases all around the world is our big GOAL right now and we wish to make it possible in 5 years so far…
