Martin Garrix Crowned World’s No.1 DJ on the AMF Stage

Martin Garrix secures his fifth win at the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Awards, as the iconic crowning moment returns to AMF, produced by Insomniac Europe.

Tonight on the AMF stage, in front of 40.000 fans, Martin Garrix was crowned The World’s No. 1 DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll 2024. This is the fifth No.1 placing for the Dutch DJ, now making him tied with fellow countryman, Armin van Buuren, for the highest number of No. 1 DJ wins.

Known for celebrating the biggest and brightest stars in the global DJ scene, it only makes sense that the Top 100 DJs awards presented the World’s No. 1 DJ on the iconic AMF stage. The big, climactic moment took place at midnight, right after Monocule, Tita Lau, Wade and Marlon Hoffstadt performed. DJ Mag tossed their live show — which was streaming performances from the world’s Top 100 DJs from all over the world — right to the AMF stage here in Amsterdam, at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, where Armin van Buuren presented the award to Martin Garrix.

After his win, Martin Garrix took the stage for a special, celebratory performance that led right into this headlining set. The crowd, almost all of which have closely followed Garrix’s career throughout the years, was teaming with excitement for this historic moment. Fun Radio and Radio 538, where Armin hosts his own show, were also there to cover the exciting news, broadcasting the results to their fanbases far and wide.

After his epic set, Garrix will toss to fellow AMF headliner Tiësto. Tonight, Timmy Trumpet, Maddix and Showtek (Hardstyle Exclusive) will also take the stage, giving fans a full night of music, dancing and crazy energy that makes AMF the biggest party of the entire ADE week.

Garrix has been voted The World’s No.1 DJ five times in the last nine years, and during this time he has never placed outside of the top five — a truly momentous achievement for a DJ/producer still in his twenties.

“I’m on the list with all my idols,” Martin Garrix told us. “I look up to Armin, I look up to Tiësto. To be in there with those guys is very surreal. My biggest worry when I entered the list, and topped [it], was that it could only go downhill from here, so it’s very special we’re back at the No.1 spot.”

Martin Garrix rose back to the top spot thanks to some huge moments in 2024. In addition to holding down his seventh headline season at Ushuaïa Ibiza, he also performed on festival mainstages around the world, and his presence was even felt on Glastonbury’s iconic Pyramid Stage, as Coldplay covered his song ‘Breakaway’ during their Saturday night headline set.
