LoudLife at Audio Obscura x Maceo Plex [Open to Close] at ADE 2024

In contrast to the festival-like tent setup of yesterday’s event, tonight’s experience at the RAWFACTORY took us deep into the garage—a raw, underground vibe that was the perfect setting for Maceo Plex’s open-to-close set. The moment you walked in, you could feel the atmosphere thick with anticipation. The slow, unpredictable build of Maceo Plex’s opening tracks set the tone for an unforgettable night.

Visual Effects (5/5)

The space was kept dark, adding to the underground feel, with bursts of light only when needed. Beams and LED bars illuminated the room during breakdowns, amplifying the impact of key moments in the music. The subtlety of the visual effects allowed the music to take center stage, creating a perfectly immersive environment that felt both intimate and expansive at the same time.

Sound (5/5)

Despite the garage setting, the sound was nothing short of phenomenal. The bass was powerful and immersive, vibrating through the center of the room in a way that made every beat feel like a pulse. The delay zones were handled expertly, ensuring that no matter where you stood, the sound was rich and enveloping. The acoustics, while naturally raw in such a space, only enhanced the underground feel, making the experience all the more intense.

Music Style (5/5)

Maceo Plex delivered a masterclass in deep, evolving techno. His set flowed seamlessly, guiding us through a sonic journey that was unpredictable yet perfectly timed. The progression throughout the night kept us on our toes, with each track building on the last, creating a relentless wave of energy. This wasn’t just a set—it was a carefully crafted experience that resonated on every level.

Energy (5/5)

The crowd was electric, just like the night before. From young newcomers to seasoned veterans, everyone was fully immersed in the music. The shared connection among the crowd, combined with the intimate setting of the garage, created a unique atmosphere. The fact that Maceo Plex was playing at eye level, surrounded by the crowd on all sides, made it feel as though we were all part of the same pulse, moving with the music together.

Overall Rating

Audio Obscura once again delivered an unparalleled experience at ADE. The underground setting, combined with Maceo Plex’s mesmerizing set and a crowd that lived and breathed the music, made for an unforgettable night. It was a different energy from the previous night’s event, but just as captivating. A solid 5 out of 5, and a night that will stand out as one of the highlights of this year’s ADE.
