He recently won the #1 house music producer award on Beatport and is a firm ‘end of year’ chart favourite across 1001tracklists.
Interview with CASSIMM
CASSIMM, you’ve had an incredible journey in the music scene, starting in Italy and breaking through with “Silent to Me” in 2012. How has your sound evolved since then?
I’ve shaped my sound over the years, following trends to an extent, but always keeping my roots in the sounds that have inspired me from day one.
Could you share with us the best moment of your summer season?
There were lots of memorable moments and new countries where I had the pleasure of performing. Playing at Womb Tokyo, Hï Ibiza with Patrick Topping, and Amnesia with Claptone were definitely the highlights of an amazing summer.
What are you most excited about this autumn?
I’m really looking forward to starting my U.S. tour in December.
“Hear Me Out” is your latest release. Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the track?
The idea was to create a follow-up to “Say Yeah,” which was released earlier this summer and got a lot of support from many DJs. Mahaila has become my favorite studio partner, so wrapping up “Hear Me Out” was pretty straightforward.

You’ve worked with some iconic names in the industry, from Chus & Ceballos to Sam Divine. What have these collaborations taught you?
Honestly, not much. I’m not really a fan of collaborations; I define myself as a solo artist, which is why you rarely see me collaborate. I make music to express myself and my feelings, which I find hard to do in collaborations.
Your tracks receive consistent support from names like Eats Everything, Claptone, and Groove Armada. How does it feel to have such strong support from them?
It feels like I’m on the right path. Getting feedback from these big names is really valuable, as it helps motivate me and gives insight into what’s working.
You recently won the #1 house music producer award on Beatport. What does this achievement mean to you, and how does it influence your goals moving forward?
Actually, this is my second time reaching #1; I was #1 last year as well. It’s a nice achievement, but it hasn’t significantly changed my career. Still, it’s great motivation to push harder and reach more goals.
How do you see the future of house music, and where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I think house music is finally getting the attention it deserves after years of EDM, tech house, and other trends. It seems like we’re circling back to the 2000s when house was the popular genre. I hope that’s true. In the years ahead, I see myself continuing to do what I love, giving my best, and hoping for a bright future.
What’s next for CASSIMM? Do you have any upcoming releases, tours, or collaborations we should be excited about?
I always have something new coming out. I try to keep my schedule as busy as possible. I’ll definitely be back on Toolroom around December with something special. There are also a few cool remixes coming soon, so keep your eyes (and ears) peeled.
