It’s hard to imagine how the festival can improve their stages year after year, but they do, and this year really did feel like they were all at their best, with one of the newest stages, The Voyager quickly becoming a fan favourite. With a flawlessly curated line up, a huge digital screen soaring into the sky and an excellent new elevated VIP viewing platform. Of course the main Futur Stage always draws the masses, offering shade from the hot sun and the occasional thunder storm, but the best kept secret is surely the Kosmo Stage. Hidden away in a leafy corner of the festival, it blends the world of art, music and technology designed by artist Marinella Senatore, with a massive attention grabbing and photo worthy ‘Dance Now Think Later’ neon instantly impressing.
Marinella Senatore was not the only artist on site. For the first time ever renowned photographer Oliviero Toscani exhibited 150 of his portraits from ongoing project Razza Umana on The Voyager stage. Taken over the last 3 editions of the festival, it was the first time Oliviero’s festival photos have been displayed at such scale.
There was also the carefully curated on-site exhibition that welcomed an array of digital artists to spotlight their work, made in partnership with Blackdove, known for their commitment to bridging the gap between the art world and technology.
The now much established Art and Techno VIP experience also returned. Fully embracing Torino’s huge art scene, the package provides the ultimate weekend of luxury for art and techno lovers, with first class VIP treatment at the festival, and private guided tours of the city’s best art galleries, private collections, studios and museums plus visits to the best restaurants in Torino.
For those that were eager to keep the fun going, there was a huge number of options when it came to after parties. At various venues across the city, festival goers had the opportunity to dance all night at clubs like Audiodrome, Azimut Club, Bunker and Centralino with late night sets from Prunk, DVS1, Paco Osuna, Nicolas Lutz , Christian Ab, Quest, Skream, Seth Troxler, Abel, Estella Boersma, Cloonee, YOUNIVERSE, Moodymann, Carl Craig, Dax J, Beltran and Vintage Culture.
The now seamless Cashless Program also returned on site and positively drove the economical impact on the city of Torino, generating an estimated 25 million Euros over the weekend.
