On October 16th, 2024, we had the pleasure of experiencing the 808 STUDIOS event, an intimate Boiler Room-inspired night that brought a fresh twist to the underground electronic scene. The event was set around 30 kilometers from our accommodation, creating a sense of exclusivity and anticipation before stepping into the venue. Once inside, the energy was palpable—the crowd surrounded the DJ booth, dancing up close and personal, embodying the true spirit of a Boiler Room event.
With a raw setup that focused on minimal yet effective lighting and a crystal-clear sound system, the venue delivered deep bass and beats that moved the entire crowd. The music leaned towards house and Boiler Room-style sets, a bit outside of our usual Drumcode techno and tech house preference, but the atmosphere more than made up for it.
The vibe was electric, with the crowd fully immersed in the experience, dancing as one with the DJs. The small space allowed for an intense, intimate connection between the artists and the audience, making the event feel like a secret underground rave.
Loudlife was excited to be part of this unique night, and we’re looking forward to sharing more about our experiences from the underground scene!
Visual Effects (5/5)
The visuals at 808 Studio August were exceptional, combining minimalism with an intimate Boiler Room vibe. The lighting design focused on creating a close connection between the crowd and the DJs, with subtle flashes and strobes that matched the pulse of the music. It felt raw yet energetic, keeping the atmosphere electric throughout the night. The proximity of the crowd to the stage and DJ booth enhanced the visuals, making every angle part of the experience.
Sound (5/5)
The sound system delivered an immersive experience from start to finish. Basslines vibrated through the space, filling the venue with deep, resonating energy. Whether you were standing next to the DJ or further back, the sound quality remained crystal clear and powerful. The intimate setup gave the impression that you were in the heart of the music, with heavy beats and flawless audio engineering that complemented the Boiler Room-style aesthetic.
Music Style (3/5)
The event showcased a range of electronic styles, though the overall vibe leaned toward house and Boiler Room-style sets. While this wasn’t entirely aligned with my usual preferences—I’m more into Drumcode techno and tech house—it was still enjoyable. The grooves were solid and fast, though I would rate it a 3 out of 5 for my taste. It didn’t quite reach the intensity of the darker, more driving beats that I prefer, but it certainly kept the crowd moving and engaged all night.
Energy (5/5)
The energy at 808 Studios was off the charts. The Boiler Room format, where the crowd surrounds the DJ, created a feeling of unity and closeness. People were vibing right next to the booth, dancing as one with the DJ, making it feel like you were at the center of the experience. The crowd was lively, diverse, and brought the same passion for the music as the artists themselves. You could feel the connection between the DJ and the audience, with energy levels that remained high all night.
