MOGA Festival makes its return to Essaouira in Morocco from the 2nd through to the 6th October. This year it will deliver one of its biggest line-ups ever in the stunning coastal town which is known for its artistic heritage and vibrant cultures.
The festival, featuring more than 70 artists, will have events spanning cultural and wellness activities during the OFF festival, and epic music performances at SOFITEL Essaouira Mogador Golf & Spa during MOGA IN.
This year’s lineup features top global talent across four stages with a great mix of local and international sounds. We profile six artists that will be performing at this year’s edition.
Damian Lazarus
Known as “The Wizard,” Damian Lazarus is a unique force in the underground music scene and the mastermind behind Crosstown Rebels and Day Zero. He brings a blend of deep, mystical house and techno so expect an otherworldly experience.
Âme
The German duo Âme are famed for their serene, melodic, escapist sound and deliver captivating live performances whiners they step up. Immersive melodic techno and atmospheric beats will make this a fine journey that is perfect for the vibrant, spiritual energy of MOGA.
Dixon
A pioneer of Berlin’s house scene, Dixon is known for his impeccable taste and ability to blend house and techno in emotional and dynamic fashion so expect just that when he takes the stage.
Habibi Funk
Habibi Funk, a Berlin-based artist and label, has built a reputation for unearthing musical gems from the Arab world so his set will be a refreshing exploration of rare grooves, funky beats, and timeless tunes with a worldly twist.
Seth Troxler
Detroit-born Seth Troxler is a famously wild and colourful character and DJ whose sets fuse house, techno, and a dash of crazy. With his charismatic presence and eclectic music selections this is always going to be one the standout sets.
Carlita
Bringing Mediterranean flair to the festival, rising star Carlita will mix up house, techno, and indie sounds with sultry rhythms, emotional depth and danceable beats that will have you swaying into the night.
