Interview with Nora En Pure:

Thank you for joining us, Daniela, We’re thrilled to have you at LoudLife! How is your summer so far?

Thank you for having me ☺️ it’s been pretty hectic tour-wise, but the shows have been really great! I have had some downtime as well up in the Swiss mountains to make sure to recharge the batteries.

Can you tell us about Nora En Pure’s journey and how you started your career in electronic music?

Well, this goes way back now 😅 I have been full-time in the electronic music world for over a decade. Back then I was just interested in experimenting with music, combining organic sounds with electronic beats, and seeing what energy can come from it. Some of the tracks sparked interest and since then it’s been a long and hard journey to build the brand and name, but I am so proud of how far we have come with our niche sound.

What inspired you to create the Purified brand and how has it evolved over the years?

Purified began with the radio show and has developed over the years into an all-encompassing brand. It was all a natural progression with the events and then the label and it has all grown really steadily. We try to focus on releasing quality music ranging from soft, emotional chill music to more upbeat club tracks, irrelevant of the size of the artist we sign.

Besides shining light on some upcoming talents, we also focus on ocean conservation. The ocean is a big epitome for the atmosphere I like in tracks. It’s wild & untamed nature takes you on a ride, just like music. The ocean is the most vital organ of our planet and is therefore super important to protect. But most people are quite disconnected from nature, from our roots. Besides releasing music that should make you feel more in tune again with nature & your roots, we highlight issues and conservation projects with every release to give everything an even deeper meaning & purpose.

You’ve played several times at the Purified event in Prague at Krizikova Fontaine. What makes this venue special for you?

Yes, we have hosted Purified here before and we are so thrilled to return after two years! It is the perfect venue for our brand with the water element and it also allows the audience so many angles to enjoy the music and setting.

What excites you the most about returning to Prague for this performance at the end of July?

This will be a really special one for me because it’s been a while since we hosted here, but also I have a lot of friends and family joining for the show, so will be a reunion in many senses. Can’t wait!

The Purified events feature a lineup of talented DJs. Could you tell us about some of the artists you’ve collaborated with?

Yes, well we love to have up-and-coming talent with us that we really believe in and it’s amazing to watch them grow over the years. For the upcoming show in Prague, we have Lexer joining us, who recently debuted on the label with his massive track ‘Closemouthed’. We also will have Corren Cavini who is such a talent and has released a few times on the imprint (with plenty more to come). We also have Alex Breitling back for this one after his set two years ago and he has released some gems on Purified over the years.

Dominik Gehringer is a rising talent from the Czech Republic. What can you tell us about him and his contributions to the Purified events?

Dominik played with us in Berlin and it was great to have him shortly after his track ‘Strange World’ came out on the label. Dominik is a super-talented producer and just such a nice person. As a DJ he picks up quickly what the crowds like so his productions are always absolute belters to play in the set. We can’t wait to have him back at one of our events soon.

How do you select artists for your Purified lineup? What qualities do you look for in a DJ or producer?

We tend to book artists for the events that have established a following on our imprint through consistent releases and that share our vision. Sometimes we invite bigger guests as well who fit well into the lineup, whose music I would play often in radio shows or live sets.

What can fans expect from future Purified events?

As previously mentioned, everything to do with Purified revolves around quality music. We want to create beautiful settings for the music to be heard, with a strong nature focus and just positivity. Join us and you will see 🙂

What do you do to stay inspired and creative in such a dynamic and competitive industry?

Ehm I think it’s good to keep your focus on what you love most and what you are good at. That will always be the most authentic and translate the most. If you watch too much what’s going on left and right, you lose focus of your own path, ending up following trends rather than setting your own. Hence I always try to develop and reshape but ultimately stay true to my sound.

Thank you so much for your time, Nora. We’re looking forward to your future projects and performances!
