LL: I am pretty happy to welcome to the Prague Tinlicker duo. How are you? Are you excited for the Czech crowd at Roxy Prague?
Micha: Yeah very much, The last time we played together here was at the Fontaine and it was actually the weekend when he wrote “Children” which means it was a special weekend!
Jordi: Yeah I remixed it in the hotel room three hours before the set and then we played it!
LL: I was actually there and I still remember your set It was the first time I saw you guys and from that time I liked and enjoyed your music, so thank you for that!
LL: Right now you are on your European tour, how was the preparation for it, logistically and mentally for you?
Micha: A lot of sleeping! We just finished our album at the end of November and then we took a break till early 2024 and then we slowly started to go into this touring process. We basically designed our life show but fortunately, we have a team to take care of the logistics stuff which makes life a lot easier
LL: What fans can expect from the show? Do you have some new music for us?
Jordi: We have a new album “Cold Enough For Snow” and we gonna play a lot of music from there.
Micha: That’s a lot of new music because we haven’t played it out yet so for us is new and probably for a lot of people it’s the first time they will hear it live!
LL: How do you balance your life with the producing and the touring and with your families? How do you keep yourself in the balance?
Jordi: He already said sleeping and sleeping is actually the thing I like to do and then keep your life healthy, I run a lot so that’s the workout I do and when you are not working, just enjoy your time with your family and be in the moment with them and try to be the normal person.
LL: Could you tell us the story behind the Tinlicker? How it all started? How did your journey come together?
Micha: I have actually started Tinlicker by myself because I am also in the Dnb group called Black Sun Empire and the other two members started families and as I don’t want to have kids I needed something else.
Jordi: Yeah he needed another kid in his life and there he is! Hahaha
Micha: I always loved all kinds of music and it was just as a hobby or just to challenge myself again and then I made a lot of music and I didn’t know what to do, where I release it and then the lady who promoted release also did his promotion for his EP at the same time and she was like: you both you live in the same city and your kind make music that has a parallel so maybe you should meet. So we did and we found out we knew a lot of the same people in the city, but never met each other before, which was kind of weird.
Jordi: Yeah, that’s because you have always touring and I wasn’t.
Micha: And then we decided to go to the studio together and we made five tracks in six days and we were like well, it’s interesting, and then eventually we decided to join the forces and become one supergroup
Listen to Tinlicker Music
LL: And it seems to be a lot of fun with you!
Micha: And that’s how it started you know you don’t start to make music because you think it’s going to be successful. It all starts with the idea that you do something you want to do and luckily a lot of people like what we do and we become more successful. The first seven years that we did it nobody wanted to hear our music or book us. And then all of a sudden has changed and now it’s pretty good!
LL: Besides the music is there any funny fact about you two? Which could be interesting for the fans?
Micha: We are actually not bald, it’s a hoax!
Jordi: I would not say that I am boring, but when I am home I am doing not much, I like to cook and walk a lot. For many people it’s boring, but I find it very inspiring.
Micha: He likes to cook with the wok!
Do you like Asia food or what? 🙂
Jordi: Fun fact about him is that he is not funny at all.
Micha: Funny is that people look at you and think you are something, but we are just two guys making music and having fun. Sometimes it’s hard, sometimes is fun like everyone’s life.
LL: Are there any upcoming projects for Tinlicker that we should be aware of?
Jordi: Well, of course, we are doing the tour now and at the end of the year we are going to do a lot of shows with the Metropol orchestra, we can’t say when and where, but it’s going to be a nice project. Then a couple of festivals this summer!
LL: What’s your message for your fans?
Rave safe! And thanks for making this all happen, cause without you we will be sitting at the couch at home!
