After having his life suddenly transformed by the release of the “Mwaki” track, which has already accumulated over 200 million plays on digital platforms, Zerb is living a dream that almost didn’t come true.

Revealed at just 17 years old in mid-2015, Matheus Massa experienced significant ups and downs in his career that almost led him to quit the project at the end of 2023. However, his 7-year persistence paid off: his global hit “Mwaki” spread worldwide and changed his life overnight. Today, the Brazilian artist celebrates a full schedule of shows and has just released a collaboration with one of the biggest bands of this century – Coldplay.

Living the peak of his career, Zerb went to Los Angeles for a month to make the most of the opportunities that arose – and many did.

The Brazilian artist strengthened ties with the acclaimed American DJ duo The Chainsmokers, a connection that culminated in the collaboration “Addicted”, which has already accumulated 100 million plays on Spotify. Recently, another big surprise: a studio meeting with the legends of Coldplay.

The relationship with the musicians began in June of this year through an invitation from the band itself for the Brazilian to remix their new song “Feels Like I’m Falling In Love” and to join them in some studio sessions.

“They saw that we had a date in Germany and they were going to be there performing in the same city. So they invited me to attend and also to have two studio sessions with Chris Martin. It was incredible”, Zerb says.

The meeting provided experience and knowledge to the young Brazilian, who, in addition to sharing ideas about his career, worked with various musical instruments alongside the band, from Chris Martin’s guitar and piano to Jonny Buckland’s guitars, Will Champion’s drums, and Guy Berryman’s bass.

“When we sat down on the second day in the studio, I played the song for the first time (…) Chris looked at me with a look of amazement. He stood up, opened his arms when the chorus started, and came running to shake me excitedly, hit pause, and said: ‘play it again from the beginning because I want to feel that again,’ and that was incredible for me”, the artist describes.

Some records of this special meeting can be seen on the DJ’s social media. The new version of Zerb entirely re-recorded with Coldplay is finally out with an official music video. (Listen here: https://coldplay.lnk.to/FLIFILZerb)

“We tried to infuse a lot of emotion and feeling into one song and I believe that’s what Chris Martin and I felt in the studio (…) I hope everyone feels the same!”, Zerb concludes.

This year, Zerb was one of the 6 most listened-to artists in Brazil and is currently on tour in Europe. Follow the artist on social media to stay updated and support this brazilian talent that keeps breaking barriers in music.
